§ Hello and happy solstice. Longer days can’t come soon enough.
§ In the middle of 15°f weather, our entire street lost power early last Sunday evening while I was in the middle of cooking dinner. The outage continued until the early hours of the next morning by which point the whole house was freezing cold.
§ On Tuesday, I finally used the rock climbing gym passes I won at last year’s holiday party. It was fun! I’m already looking forward to going again soon.
§ Speaking of end of the year music recaps, James Reeves published his 2025 rotation this week. “In Transit” is a particularly interesting mix of ambient naturalistic techno.
§ Pluribus is starting to grow on me. The most recent two episodes have been buoyed by having more than one active character. Vince Gilligan hasn’t made things easy for himself here, writing a show with so few characters, painfully sparse dialog, and such a slowly developing plot. Nevertheless, I think there is actually a chance he might just pull it off in the end.
§ I’m very much looking forward to having the next ten days off. Happy holidays.
