§ At work I made a second revision of the table design I started last week. The primary change is that I replaced the unistrut nuts with their 5/16”-18 bolts for much smaller rectangular weld nuts and 1/4”-20 hardware. This new smaller hardware is 1/3rd of the price, easier to work with, and I don’t notice any difference in the sturdiness of the final product. It seems like a win all around.

§ Halloween is next week, already. We’ve been making a lobster costume for baby Kieran inspired by my first Halloween costume that was, according to my mom, made by a puppeteer friend of theirs who had worked with Jim Henson. I’m still eagerly awaiting photos of it. I am under no false pretenses that our costume will be Muppets-caliber but I’m confident it will be cute nonetheless.

§ Also next week: daylight saving time ends. Recently Caroline and I have been taking the baby on after dinner walks around the neighborhood. This is going to get a lot harder once it gets dark at 5:00 PM. I am not looking forward to it.

Two wooden tables with curved legs are positioned in a room with blue walls and a carpeted floor, one of which has a pegboard attached to its back.A serene twilight sky with a visible moon hangs over a line of trees and a grassy field.A red knitted hat with large eyes and a matching red onesie are laid out on a patterned rug and wooden floor.
