§ The return trip from Chicago was even more uneventful than the drive there. Caroline and I feel emboldened to do more traveling with the baby in the near future.


§ On Monday we picked up a nice pair of new (to us) couches to replace our previous set that was older than we are. It’s a genuinely dramatic upgrade.


§ The neighborhood lightning bugs have finally emerged and little by little raspberries are beginning to ripen on our little bush. It’s starting to properly feel like summer.

If the weather forecasts are to be believed, next week might feel too much like summer with temperatures all week in the upper 90s. I just hope the city fares better than it did during last year’s early summer heat wave.


§ Last night Caroline, Kieran, and I met some friends at Progressive Field to watch a Guardians game. It was both the baby and my first time going to a baseball game. Kieran got a cute little certificate commemorating the occasion while I tried to keep the fact that it was my first game on the DL.


§ This week marked my three year anniversary at my current job. I’m feeling less reflective than I was at the one and two year marks. More than anything else, I’m thankful for the flexibility this job has accommodated my with during these early days of new parenthood.
